Alpha Delta PI

The Delta Phi Chapter

Welcome!

w/ The 2025 Alpha Delta Pi President, Tessa McGee

Hi there! My name is Tessa McGee, and I have the honor of serving as the Chapter President for the Delta Phi Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi in 2025. Being a part of this sisterhood has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. Alpha Delta Pi has shaped not only my college experience but the person I am today—and the person I strive to become.

Our four core values—service, sisterhood, character, and knowledge—are principles I work to live by every day. Through them, I have built a community that supports me, encourages me to succeed, and challenges me to grow. Coming into college, I knew I wanted to give back to my community and find a group of academically motivated individuals. I found all of that and more in Alpha Delta Pi.

It makes a world of difference during college to have people you can study with before exams, count on during tough times, and enjoy life’s best moments with. Before joining this chapter, I wouldn't have described myself as outgoing or especially confident. But Alpha Delta Pi changed that. The support of my sisters has helped me grow in ways I never imagined—from small acts like words of encouragement at chapter meetings to showing up for each other at presentations, or simply studying together at the sorority house. These moments have defined my college years, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything.

One of the aspects of our chapter I am most proud of is our continued work with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City (RMHC-KC). Each semester, we support RMHC-KC’s mission to keep families close while their children receive care at Children's Mercy Hospital. Whether we’re cooking weekly meals for families, volunteering at events like Trunk-or-Treat, or collecting pop tabs, we are honored to play even a small role in supporting these families.

Our philanthropy events—PiHop in the spring and PiFest in the fall—connect the UMKC community to this important cause. In just the past two years, we’ve raised over $20,000 for RMHC-KC! My own involvement, from being a general member to serving as RMHC Chair and later Vice President of Philanthropy, has left a permanent mark on my heart. The families and volunteers I’ve met through this work have changed my life. I’m forever grateful that they trust us during such vulnerable times—because even something as simple as providing a warm meal can lift a heavy burden and bring real comfort.

More than anything, Alpha Delta Pi has introduced me to people and opportunities I never would have found otherwise. Every member brings a unique story, personality, and perspective, but together, we create a sisterhood that is truly lifelong and deeply meaningful. I genuinely cannot imagine my college experience—or my life—without the women I’ve met as a member of the First and Finest sorority.

Loyally,

Tessa McGee”
